So how does this train you for the Bardo?
The Bardo is not just an afterlife state -- it's an unfiltered state. A raw stream of impressions, forms, thoughts, identities, and projections -- all amplified, echoing, and reflecting your own mind back at you with absolute immediacy. No body to ground you. No time to buffer it. No outside to push against.
That's exactly the condition social media simulates -- only badly and destructively.
The feed is a samsaric mirage. Social media is the perfect low-grade simulation of the Bardo's illusion-making engine. Images and sounds arise, unbidden. They trigger emotion, attachment, fear, lust, memory. Your "likes" are karma echoes. The scroll is endless -- no top, no bottom, no center. You forget yourself as you dive in.
Training with awareness in that environment is practicing clarity within illusion -- a prime Bardo skill.
If you can remember who you are while online, you're beginning to learn how to remember who you are when you're dead.
Disengagement becomes liberation practice. When you deliberately choose not to react, not to chase the next stimulus, not to amplify the next rage-trigger -- you're doing exactly what the Tibetan Book of the Dead recommends:
"Do not follow the forms. Do not fear them. Recognize them as your own projection, and you will be liberated."
Unfollowing, muting, scrolling past the bait -- this isn't just mental health. It's spiritual combat training. You're learning to see through deception, resist hooks and loops, stay centered while chaos dances around you....
"Curating signal" becomes "cultivating Buddha fields". When you build a quiet space -- a clean feed, your own media sanctuary -- you're building a field of intentional impressions. This is the digital version of a Buddha Realm -- a space where all imagery points toward awakening.
