A few notes about the event from Marvette Kort

On Sunday, July 9th on Zoom, E.J. was interviewed by Jeff Carreira who has worked the last ten years to develop a community after having lived for 20 years in a spiritual community.

At the onset of the meeting, E.J. mentioned that last night he had sat up and ended up watching "Don't Look Back", a documentary from 1965 portraying Bob Dylan on tour. He had forgotten about how wretched a time it was because it looks so rosy from here.

After some repartee, Jeff said he's learning from E.J. and that maps as a perfect overlay with what he's teaching. E.J.'s response was that you already have the entire teaching within you, and it unfolds as it does - it's in there.

Jeff referenced recently reading Seven Bodies of Man and Secret Talks Vol. V - Work of Groups. And he wanted to ask E.J. about how to establish deep spiritual energies and evolve in higher dimensions of being. In addition, he wants to invite people in his community to engage in group spiritual work. Jeff used the analogy of an array of radio telescopes as a metaphor for group work.

E.J.'s response was that it provided you with impact, a penetrating power in the sense of depth of perception because you have not just group necessity - there's a strength that comes. Each individual is strengthened much more than if just working for themselves. E.J. advised that a really smart general calls his commanders into the office and asks for them to talk truthfully about ideas. There could be widely different opinions; however, full free discussions keep a community balanced because eventually opinions and beliefs give way to glaring truths.

E.J. went on to say that every single fraction of Jacob's Ladder - every single floor of the elevator - is available to you. But you have to go, you have to do it. How do you do it? Just sit there. It has nothing to do with your body. What do you do? Try flipping on the switch that says 7th dimension. See what happens. One key factor in this, a point E.J. made more than once in the conversation is, "you have to be in motion. You need to be doing a practice daily - failure is not an option."

E.J. gave an exercise that could propel one into the energetic necessity of "doing perceptions". Think of yourself as a perceiving device for the Creator. The Creator plunked you down into this environment and you're to look at, view, analyze and store all data that you come across and send it up to the boss. When do you send it up to the boss? You send it up to the boss on that cycle of rebirth.... E.J. went into acting out a humorous vignette of what that might look like.

Jeff went further with questions about cosmic consciousness and astral projection. At some point in his response, E.J. suggested that a group might wish to upscale. In doing so, one may not even know they went out of body. And we were fortunate that E.J. felt moved to upscale the space. The change was tangible. And then he downscaled it back to Earth. He said that when he upscales, he sees the same thing, but it means something different. And E.J. said that he knew Jeff understood that and invited him to explain.

As you can see the above are just excerpts from a teaching transmission. Besides the rich content of the interview, I was struck by a small detail that, for me, confirmed the linkage for the transmission I felt happening.

E.J. signed off saying to everyone, "Have a great day, no matter what happens." Jeff expressed his gratitude for the event. Then Jeff unmuted everyone and invited people to speak if they felt moved to comment.

Someone asked Jeff, "What does your t-shirt say?" His response was, "Don't look back, you're not going that way." And the meeting closed.

E.J. Gold has been a prominent and controversial figure in the Human Potential movement in California for over 50 years. Technically a "shamanic rabbi", he earned respect in the field of transformational psychology by the clarity, profundity, uniqueness and expertise of his writings and thoughts and his emphasis on a practical approach towards transformation.

Thus far he has written dozens of books in his field. The subjects he covers are wide-ranging, from attention and presence, the waking versus sleeping state, death and dying, to shamanism, interdimensional voyaging, artifact reading, imprinting and use, cosmic laws, the suffering of the Absolute, higher bodies, artistic expression, the Tarot, prayer, sufism, shakti, natural childbirth, and many more themes. He is recognized as an authority in many of these areas, but death and dying will always be central to his vision, explorations and projects.

His best known book, the American Book of the Dead, is a modern Western version of the Bardo Thodol, or The Tibetan Book of the Dead. Gold's book has sold over 200,000 copies and been translated into several other languages.

Described as a teacher's teacher, his influence and association with contemporaries includes Timothy Leary, Dr. John Lilly, Rabbi Zalman Schachter, Robert Anton Wilson, Dr. Claudio Naranjo, Swami Vishnu Devananda, Chogyam Trungpa, Dr. Fritz Perls, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Reshad Feild, Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche, Heather Valencia, Robert de Ropp, Joan Halifax, Paul Anderson, Antonio Asin, and many others.

In spite of all these associations and his remarkable list of accomplishments, Gold has preferred to maintain a high level of privacy and isolation from the media. However, he has become very active on the internet, especially since the pandemic years of 2020-21. He meets with students in zoom and has spent years in certain gaming platforms where he is a veteran.
